Daniele Alet
(France), author-director My personal and professional history is the result of extraordinary meetings that I wish to share with you. Black or pink, life is a novel... Or a movie ! And she reminds us of this every day… Writing, observing, telling, testifying without judging, documenting in short, that's what drives me... Justice, health, history, education… My explorations often take me where reality goes beyond fiction. I tell you stories... true stories. I like this very colorful popular Mexican proverb: "Querían enterrarnos pero no sabían que éramos semillas" "They wanted to bury us, they didn't know we were seeds". I also like this quote, fundamental in my opinion, from Martin Luther King: "Our lives strats to end the day we become silent about the things that matter". Making a documentary means going through a long road of obstacles and in difficult times I always tell myself that no one is immune to a stroke of luck. Because it is a chance in life to meet extraordinary people.

Atilio Caballero
(Cuba), author, art critic and theatre director No, I don’t like salsa: I like blues and southern rock; I don’t like rum, I prefer whiskey or a good red wine; I prefer tennis to baseball, and I don’t even know how to dance "as Lord intended", as the Caribbean archetype advises. I don’t look like a good Cuban, as you love to think. But it was in Cuba where I did most of my theatrical performances, and where I wrote all my books and screenplays. From a Woyzeck with a strong Caribbean accent, staging that has given the world the opera of the Teatro de La Fortaleza, passing through the historical and documentary history of a part of our homeland and hidden history (Montañeses), to a recent review "tropical" of that singular marriage between the Cuban Paul Lafargue -"The right to laziness"! - and Laura Marx (Everything solid melts in Paris). Twenty-five years between one and the otherr, and among novels (L'ultima spiaggia, Natura morta con le api, La macchina di Bukowski...), among books – L'arco e la corda, Tarantola, o Rosso Lombardo e La valigia di B. , these last two winners of the prestigious fiction award "Alejo Carpentier" (one of my few orgies), and a couple of text collections for the theatre (Quartetto and "Dittico") and the occasional audiovisual film (Il vecchio e il lago, Ekaterina, Broken Shadow...). Every now and then, as a "mnemonic expedient" - Hemingway said -, and to keep the mind active, I translate some other Italian writer of the '900 that fascinates me: Montale, Magris, Zanzotto, Luzi, Magrelli, Calasso, all unknown on that warm and green islet until they were published (modesty aside). "If this sounds like the story of a lifetime, that’s fine," as my beloved Carver would say.

Youth Jury

Caroline Amet
I am Caroline, a 24-year-old French girl who has been living in Rome for a year. Coming to Italy and trying to settle there was a very important step for me. In fact, ever since I was a child, I have been very curious about Italian culture. In being part of the Young Jury of the Faito Doc for the 2023 edition on diversity, I intend to take advantage of the opportunity to discover works, trying to understand the impact intended by the director and his team on the viewer.

Rita Dora Baldassarre
Born in Naples in 2003. I live by cultivating my passions for music, art, photography and architecture, synthesising them in myself and in what I aspire to. I feel I have grown up through art, surrounded by the wonders of a city that has moulded me and given me, along with my mother's commitment and love, a passion for beauty and curiosity in the search for it. The cinematic experience is itself an artistic experience, and so I love to seek harmony between the parts, the fusion of rule and expression.

Olivia Beckers
I am Belgian, 24 years old and specialising in marine biology. I am passionate about human beings and their interactions with nature. The diversity in every living being inspires me in my work and personal life and I am always looking for experiences and encounters. Discovering new knowledge and points of view is exciting for me. Watching films and finding unexpected perspectives through watching other people is a real pleasure and helps me to better understand the world we live in.

Louise Hollander
I recently graduated in Urban Space Studies at ENSAV in La Cambre, Belgium, and I am passionate about cinema. Watching a film for me is really cathartic, it helps me understand myself and the world better. The power of cinema is that it can transport you from one reality to another very easily. It allows you to virtually live thousands of experiences without taking too many risks. Seeing the perspectives of many international filmmakers will broaden my understanding of human interactions.

Antonio Eduardo Perretta
I was born in Naples on 31/01/1998, and live in Saviano. After high school, I obtained a diploma in Screenwriting at the International School of Comics in Naples and then graduated in Photography, Cinema and Television at the Academy of Fine Arts where I attend the two-year Filmmaking course. The theme of this 16th edition, Diversity, is very dear to me; it is linked to the history of my family, which emigrated to South America in the 1950s. In addition to the desire to view works from all over the world, I want to broaden my horizon and meet people who share my passion.

Prisca Perisse
I am Prisca I am 20 years old and I study film in Paris. I would quote one of my favourite directors to introduce myself: "I imagined and I launched myself", with this sentence Agnès Varda sums up my being adventurous and my imaginative spirit, which allows me to look beyond reality or at least to filter it in my own way. I am increasingly interested in documentaries, especially auteur ones. The Faito Doc Festival is therefore an excellent and further experience to enrich my cinematographic knowledge.

Nicola Ricci
My name is Nicola and I am almost 17 years old. I was born in Brussels to Italian parents. Since childhood, cinema has been a pleasure for me, real moments of pleasure, and as I grew up I approached it, without explicitly wanting to, step by step and this world began to occupy my free time and then school... I convinced myself to participate in the Young Jury this year because this experience is so well placed in my path that it would be absurd not to try, that's what summer is for after all.

Enrica Scaramella
Hi! I'm Enrica, I'm 23 years old and I recently returned to Italy after studying abroad. I would say that I feel quite lost with regard to practically everything and so I am trying to find that inner peace - albeit temporary - and that role in the world that so many of us are looking for. Film and music are things that allow me to enter worlds other than my own, which I've always loved to do since I was little, so I think that's why I'm here!

Giulia Geneviève Testa
I am Giulia, I am 19 years old, from Naples and I have always spent my summers on Monte Faito and was even almost born here. I study biology and have been passionate about art and cinema since childhood. I am a very sensitive and creative person and that is why I am looking forward to the Faito Doc!
