For its extraordinary characters, for the breath of life that runs through the film, for the infinitely large and the infinitely small — we chose to give our recognition to Koka.

Best Short Film Award
How to please by Elina Talvensaari
From a dark and Kafkaesque reality, she was able to lead us through her character’s journey with a simplicity that commands great respect.

Youth Jury

Special Mentions  – Short Films
Koka by Aliaksandr Tsymbaliuk
We were deeply moved by the family bond portrayed, shown through a reality different from what a child might experience in other European countries.

Les filles c’est fait pour faire l’amour by Jeanne Paturle, Cécile Rousset, Jeanne Drovet, and Emmanuelle Santinelli
We were struck by the fact that this was the only animated documentary short film in competition. Moreover, the topic is of great public importance and touched us deeply, especially through the use of testimonies.

Youth Jury Award – Short Film
How to please by Elina Talvensaari
We decided to award How to please by Elina Talvensaari, a film addressing immigration services with a surprising and innovative approach. The narrative device used to portray Wed’s reality in seeking residency in Finland struck us as particularly powerful.

Special Mentions  – Feature Films
Le 14 mai, on va à la mer by Hugo Portela Larisch
This story touched us with its lightness, humor, and tenderness. We followed the lives of elderly people in a retirement home, their desires, and daily requests. Dance played a central role in the film, which we found truly moving.

Youth Jury Award – Feature Films

Kamay by Sharoukh Bikaran and Ilyas Yourish
An intense and moving documentary that tells the story of a Hazara family seeking justice for the suspicious death of their daughter Zahra at Kabul University. Directed by Ilyas Yourish and Sharoukh Bikaran, the film combines a powerful emotional charge with a poetic portrayal of the silent resistance of an oppressed people.
